Woman passes away hours after being admitted to hospital, family refuses to accept body fearing Covid
Vijayawada: The coronavirus pandemic has instilled a fear in the minds of everyone. The raging second wave is so ferocious that everyone is now scared to go off track and catch the virus.Amid this scenario, even family members are now finding it difficult to accept that their close ones might have died of Covid and take responsibility for the body after the death of the patient.In one such incident, the family of a 55-year-old woman refused to accept her body. The woman had lost her life two days ago due to ill health. The deceased was a native of Veerulapadu Mandal in the Krishna district. Reports suggest that the incident took place in the Nandigama area.The Nandigama police said that the woman had been admitted to the government hospitalisation Sunday. The doctors had then conducted a Covid-19 test as she had fever and cough. However, as per reports, the woman passed away within a few hours of being admitted. The hospital then informed the family, after which the family members refused to accept the body of the woman.On the Covid-19 front, Hyderabad is dealing with a shortage of oxygen just like several other states. Reports suggest that in order to meet the urgent requirements of Covid-19 patients, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Sunday handed over 50 oxygen cylinders to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad.
