Goa Forward PresidentVijai Sardesai has written to Health Minister Vishwajit Rane urginghim and the government to include preventive heart checkup in DeenDayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) Scheme.“The inclusion ofpreventive heart checkups under the DDSY scheme would allow allGoemkars to go and conduct a checkup without any financial burden. Inthe midst of the COVID-19, having early detection of heart diseaseswould allow us as a state to be prepared and prioritize our mostvulnerable citizens to the infections. Further, it would also help usas a state identify our priority citizens and frontline staff to be scheduled in the first phase of the vaccine rollout. Earlydetection ofheart diseases can help save many Goan lives,” Vijaisaid in his letter
