It's official, guys! Hyundai Motor India has confirmed that its upcoming seven-seater SUV will be christened Hyundai Alcazar. The company added the Alcazar SUV will make its global debut soon. Now, a little bit about the upcoming SUV in India -- Hyundai India explained a key development goal that forms the foundation of the Alcazar is the personifcation of reliability as well as indulgence. It added that the upcoming Hyundai car takes inspiration from the royal lineage of castles and palaces and serves to allude to their grandeur, spaciousness, and solidity. The carmaker assures the seven-seater Hyundai Alcazar premium SUV will be in lockstep with the ambitions of its "sophisticated, innovative, and tech savvy customers."S S Kim, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, "The year 2021 will add a new chapter in HMIL history, as we gear-up to enter and redefine a new segment. Hyundai ALCAZAR will supersede the aspirations of new age buyers and redefine existing benchmarks to ensure customer delight. As Hyundai completes 25 years in the country, we will re-emphasize our commitment to Indian customers with the Global Debut of Hyundai ALCAZAR that is ‘Made in India’ and ‘Made First for India’."Essentially a 7-seater Hyundai Creta, Alcazar SUV will be offered with the same engine options as the 5-seater Creta, i.e. a choice between a 1.4-litre GDI turbocharged petrol, a 1.5-litre petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. Though the South Korean automaker hasn't offered any information in respect to Hyundai Alcazar's engine as well as transmission options, we believe it will be simply be carried over from the Creta. This means there may not be any changes to the transmission options either, meaning all the engines will be made available in combination with the same set of gearboxes as available with the Hyundai Creta SUV.
