Trading halts on NSE due to technical glitch, normal trading to resume soon
New Delhi: Cash and F&O trading on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) has been stopped due to technical glitches at certain places. Nifty 50 has not made any movement since 10.08 am. It stood at 14,820.45-level up by 112.65 points or 0.77%.Initially, the Nifty50 index along with other sectoral indices stopped updating although individual stock prices were updating in their usual form. But the NSE halted trading in all segments at 11.40 am due to a glitch in the index price feed. NSE through its Twitter handle has informed that it is working to fix the processes."NSE has multiple telecom links with two service providers to ensure redundancy. We have received communication from both the telecom service providers that there are issues with their links due to which there is an impact on NSE system," the exchange said on Twitter."We are working on restoring the systems as soon as possible. In view of the above, all the segments have been closed at 11:40 and will be restored as soon as issue is resolved," NSE further added.NSE has multiple telecom links with two service providers to ensure redundancy. We have received communication from both the telecom service providers that there are issues with their links due to which there is an impact on NSE system.Meanwhile, IIFL informed its clients that normal trading on NSE will resume from 1:15 pm. Prior to that, a pre-opening session will be conducted from 1 pm to 1:15 pm to cool off prices. However, NSE has not confirmed it yet. Brokers told ET Now that all pending orders on NSE will be cancelled before the exchange reopens for trading at 1 pm. 1)NSE Preopen market will start at 1.00 pm and normal market starts at 1.15 pm
2)All pending orders placed before 11.40 am in NSE will be cancelled after market reopens
3)All Cover and bracket order positions will be converted to Intraday positions after market openingMarket expert Ajay Srivastava told ET Now, "Very important for NSE to give time to people to look at their account statement.
