Another day, another spy shot. However, we must admit, that this one is rather interesting than most. Why? Because it is an image of the Toyota RAV4 on a test run in India. While there have been reports about the Japanese automaker considering bringing this particular SUV to India, the company has offered absolutely no hints about it. But now that a test mule of the RAV4 has been spotted in India, we are inclined to believe that there may be some merit to the reports about its impending launch in India after all. We'll discuss those details in a bit; first, let's focus on the upcoming car's spy shot and what information it has to offer. The test unit in the image is seen with some sort of a badge on the front fender. Now, we don't have a very clear view of the badge, but we reckon it says hybrid. Why? Because Toyota RAV4's range includes a hybrid model as well. Plus, the Toyota logo on the tailgate also appears to be somewhat blue, thus further fortifying the assertion that the test mule is indeed a hybrid. Besides the badges and the logo, the new Toyota RAV4 spy pic also offers a glimpse of the upcoming Toyota car's interior. We spotted the infotainment touchscreen, in case you were wondering.(Source: Instagram/Ayush Nimkarr)Underpinned by Toyota's TNGA platform, the RAV4 crossover SUV's range in international market includes a total of three models: One a petrol-only iteration, one hybrid, and finally, a plug-in hybrid model. Our guess is that Toyota will offer the hybrid version in India. Toyota RAV4 Hybrid comes powered by a 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine that is paired to an electric motor. The powertrain belts out a combined power output of 215 bhp in two wheel drive models. However, the system generates a tad better output in the all-wheel drive variants -- 219 bhp, to be precise.
