Realme Narzo 50 Pro to Vivo X80: These phones are set to launch in May
In April this year, we witnessed around 15 phone launches and it seems that brands are not done yet. Realme has announced the launch of its new Narzo 50 Pro 5G series in India. This is not at all surprising as the company is known for launching new products every month to offer users a variety of options. The Vivo X80 series will make its way to the Indian market on May 18. You will also witness the launch of the OnePlus Nord 2T the very next day. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming 5G phones in India.Realme has confirmed that it will launch two new phones in India on May 18. These are Realme Narzo 50 5G and Narzo 50 Pro. The devices will be available for purchase via Amazon as the e-commerce giant has already published a dedicated page for the launch event. The listing has revealed the Pro version will be powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 920 SoC, which is based on 6nm process. The company is touting that its affordable phone even has a 5 layer vapour chamber cooling system for better heat dissipation. The rest of the details are still under wraps.It is worth pointing out that Realme is already selling the Realme Narzo 50 smartphone in India and it is now planning to announce the 5G version of the handset. The 4G version of the Realme Narzo 50 is listed on Amazon for Rs 12,999. So, the new 5G Realme phones are expected to cost more than Rs 15,000 in India.The Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro will also make their debut in India on May 18. These will be premium offerings from Vivo that are focused more on offering a good camera experience. The devices are already available in China, so we know the possible specifications of the two phones.The standard model has a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, whereas the Pro version draws power from Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The 5G phones are running on FuntouchOS 12, which is based on Android 12.In China, the Vivo X80 comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED 120Hz FHD+ display, a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup, a 4,500mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging, a 32-megapixel front camera, and more.The Vivo X80 Pro, on the other hand, features a 6.78-inch AMOLED 120Hz 2K screen, a 4,700mAh battery, a 32-megapixel selfie camera, and a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup. The top-end version also has support for 80W and the company isn’t offering 120W support. The Pro version is also IP68 rated, which is it is water-resistant. Vivo has also provided support for 50W wireless charging. It will likely be seen competing against the OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone.The Vivo X80 series has been spotted on Flipkart, which basically means that it will go on sale via the same e-commerce site. The India price and sale details of the new Vivo phones will be revealed on May 18.The OnePlus Nord 2T is all set to launch on May 19. The company is sending out invites to media for the launch event. While the specifications of the device are officially unknown, a lot has already been leaked about the upcoming mid-range 5G phone. A hands-on video of the Nord 2T was recently spotted on YouTube and the device has also made an appearance on a retailer website.As suggested by leaks, the OnePlus Nord 2T packs a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 1,300 chipset, which will be backed by up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. There could be 4,500mAh battery under the hood. The company is expected to offer support for 80W fast charging, which it is currently offering with OnePlus 10R smartphone. The device will likely ship with Android 12 OS out of the box. For photography, there could be a 50-megapixel main camera at the back. It might be paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and 2-megapixel monochrome camera.The OnePlus Nord 2T is expected to be priced at around $399 (around Rs 30,930). If and when the smartphone launches in India, it will likely be under Rs 30,000. There are chances that the brand may unveil it with Nord 3 name label. We will get to know about this in the coming months. As of now, there is no official confirmation on the India launch of the Nord 2T phone.The iQOO Neo 6 is soon expected to launch in India. While the company hasn’t yet revealed the official launch date of the smartphone, it has started teasing the launch and features of the phone. Ahead of the launch, the brand has revealed the upcoming iQOO Neo 6 will come with a Snapdragon 870 SoC, which is also powering the OnePlus 9R smartphone. The device will have support for 80W fast charge as well. The rest of the details are still unknown. But, since the device is already available in China, the specifications of the Indian variant could be a little similar in terms of display, battery and camera. The Chinese model features a 6.62-inch screen with FHD+ AMOLED 120Hz display, which is HDR 10+ certified. There is a 4,700mAh battery under the hood and a 64-megapixel triple rear camera setup. It will likely take on the recently launched OnePlus 10R smartphone, which is priced at Rs 38,999. The launch iQOO Neo 6 is expected to happen in the coming days or weeks.
