One of the worst-hit cities with COVID-19, Pune is now moving towards recovering from the infection and the city's positivity rate has dropped below 5%. The drop in the positivity rate has led to Pune moving to level 2. It was earlier placed under level 3.With the situation coming under control, the malls and shops are set to open in the city. As per a report in India Today, Pune's hotels, restaurants, and eateries can now function till 10 PM. The malls and shops will open till 7 PM, the report adds.The eateries were allowed to function earlier as well but without a dine-in facility. Now, an eatery is allowed to dine-in with 50% capacity.Meanwhile, Pune reported 1,338 new cases on Thursday (June 10). The testing remained on the high side as the officials collected 19,483 samples. Pune's death toll moved to 17,371 with 31 people succumbing to the infection. There are lesser than 20,000 active cases there now.Talking of Maharashtra's COVID-19 tally, the state recorded 12,207 COVID-19 cases a day before. The addition of 12,207 cases has taken the state's tally to 58,76,087. The death toll moved to 1,03,748 with 393 people succumbing to the infection.A total of 56,08,753 people have recovered from the infection in the state. The latest numbers suggest that there are 1,60,693 active cases in Maharashtra. 660 people tested positive in Mumbai. There are 15,811 active cases in the city.
