PM Modi deletes account from Chinese social media website after banning Weibo.
Sources have revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has deleted his account on the Chinese social media app Weibo as tensions continue between India and China. The step comes two days after 59 Chinese apps like TikTok, Weibo and CamScanner have been blocked by India citing data privacy concerns. Sources told India Today TV, "As soon as the decision to disallow Chinese 59 apps in India was taken, Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to leave Weibo, which he entered a couple of years ago." The sources added that due to its user policy about checked accounts, there was a delay in deleting PM Modi's account from Weibo 's end, and as a result, India had to initiate an official process.
