Patna reports 2,105 COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours taking total count in Bihar to 29,078
Patna: With the upsurge in COVID-19 cases across the country, the state Bihar has reported 6,133 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, Bihar capital Patna has recorded 2015 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The total count of active cases in Bihar has reached 29,078.The state health department has shared a district-wise break of the COVID-19 cases. The decision was taken amid rising cases of COVID 19 in the state. Earlier, the government had decided to re-open the education institution on April 11 but extended the closure by a week.Bihar reported 2,174 new COVID-19 cases on April 8. "For those from Bihar returning back to the state due to the current COVID19 situation, arrangements are being made for them. Those coming by trains from Maharashtra will be tested for COVID19 at the railway stations," Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had said.On April 9, the Bihar government announced a slew of restrictions on the movement of people and goods, public gatherings and commercial establishments in view of rising cases.Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said the surge in COVID-19 cases is a big cause of concern and that the state government has increased vaccination and tests. All shops in the state are permitted to open till 7 pm. While restaurants, dhabas and hotels are exempted and can function on 25 per cent seating capacity.
