Guys, Maruti Suzuki finally launched the new Swift 2021 in India! Yep -- the new Maruti Suzuki Swift's price in India starts at ₹5.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base LXi variant. In its 2021 avatar, the car comes equipped with an updated powertrain, dual tone exterior colour options, and a handful of new features as well. As for how the new Maruti Suzuki car in India looks, well not too different from the outgoing model -- the 2021 Swift facelift comes sporting minimal changes to its exterior as well as the interior. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "Since its launch in 2005, Swift has revolutionised the premium hatchback segment in India. Swift with its sporty performance, upright stance and unmistakable road presence emphasizes individuality that stands out from the crowd. This ‘coming of the age’ car was designed keeping in mind the evolved preferences of the modern day customer. Over the years, Swift has earned the warmth of nearly 2.4 million customers. The new Swift takes this legacy a notch higher with a new powerful K-series engine, sportier dual tone exterior, best-in-class fuel efficiency and enhanced safety features. We thank our customers for their unwavering support throughout and are confident that the new Swift will also win the appreciation of our customers."Now, let's quickly discuss the changes; as mentioned above, updates to the design are minimal. Outside, the list of changes primarily includes a redesigned grille. Inside, the new Swift gets provisions such as cruise control, idle start and stop and key synchronized auto foldable ORVMs, a twin-pod meter cluster, new 10.67cm multi-information coloured TFT display, a 17.78 cm Smartplay Studio infotainment system, etc.For safety, Maruti Suzuki has equipped the new Swift with features such as bigger front and rear brakes, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder, ISOFIX, reverse parking sensors with a rear view camera, etc. AGS variants also get Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with hill-hold.2021 Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series Dualjet petrol engine with Idle Start Stop (ISS) technology. Available in combination with both, a manual gearbox and AGS, the new Kseries engine belts out an increased power output of 88.5 bhp at 6,000 rpm. New Maruti Suzuki Swift claims to deliver a fuel-efficiency of 23.2 km/l with the manual transmission and 23.76 km/l in AGS variants.
