Lingayat seers continue to bat for CM B.S. Yediyurappa
Vijayapura: Seers of Lingayat community continue to rally behind Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa demanding the BJP central leadership not to remove him from the post till the end of government’s tenure.In a joint press conference by seers of Vijayapura and Bagalkot which was attended by around 20 seers, they said on Thursday July 22 that they will not allow BJP high command to remove Yediyurappa from the post.“In case the party leaders want to replace him, then the next CM should be from the North Karnataka region”, he said.Speaking on the occasion, Yogeshwari Matajiof Siddarud Math said that Yediyurappa is a tall ladder and the community is surprised to hear that the party is planning to replace him.In his address, Mahadev Shivacharya Swamy of Babaleshwar said that it is nothing wrong for the seers to support a political leader.He claimed that each Lingayat Seer has at least 5,000 followers, by which he tried to send the message that many Seers and their large number of followers too are not in favour to charge of leadership in Karnataka BJP.“Yediyurappa has built the BJP from scratch, he is a great leader as well. Considering this, the party high command should not think of replacing BSY and hear the point of Seers”, he said.Swarupananda Swamy of Indi said that during the Covid crises, both Centre and States should have a stable government to take up works for the welfare of people. The replacement may destabilize the government.He claimed that the State needs more services of Yediyurappa, and said that replacement will be an insult to Yediyurappa.He alleged that some miscreants in BJP are making every effort to remove him from the post. Not just BJP but even Congress MLAs of Lingayat community have supported BSY.“If needed, over 500 Seers of North Karnataka would hold rally in Bengaluru and Delhi in support of BSY”, he said.
