The Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, who arrived in Jammu on his visit, has given good news to the people of Jammu. At the beginning of his address at the Convention Center, he said that sitting MP Jugal Kishore Sharma asked me when the metro rail would be approved in Jammu. I also told him that the metro railway in Jammu would be approved next week, and soon that project will be started and completed.The people of Jammu are also eagerly waiting for the Metro to start. Although many times there were speculations about the start of this project, later nothing happened on it. But, now, after the assurance of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, the people of Jammu have got hope that this project will start soon, and after three to four years metro will be seen running in Jammu. By the way, preparations are being made for a long time for the metro service in Jammu, which has been named Jammu Light Metro Project.Metro service will start from the Bantalab area adjoining the city, which will go to Chinnaur, Roop Nagar, Janipur High Court, Lower Laxmi Nagar, Ambaphala, Secretariat, Raghunath Mandir, Exhibition Ground, University Marg, Panama Chowk, Railway Station, Trikuta Nagar, Narwal, Greater Kailash. This will be the first phase of the Metro. The Metro will reach Udaywala, Tirath Nagar, Suraj Nagar, Circuit House, Jewel Chowk, Exhibition Ground in the second phase. In contrast, Kaluchak, Cidco Chowk, Badi Brahmana, and Badi Brahmana will reach railway stations in the third phase.Seventeen railway stations will be built in the 17-kilometre metro route of the first phase, six stations in a six-kilometre way in the second phase and five stations between six kilometres in the third phase. The work of laying the network for this Metro will be entrusted to the Metropolitan Regional Development Authority at an estimated cost of Rs 4,825 crore in the first phase. The work of the first phase can be completed by 2024.
