Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav on Friday met with Hindustani Awami Morcha (HAM) chief and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partner Jitan Ram Manjhi at his residence in Patna, Bihar, sparking political speculation. After meeting with Manjhi, Tej Pratap told mediapersons that the Mahagathbandhan's (Grand Alliance) door is open for him and it is up to the HAM chief to decide whether he wants to join the RJD in Bihar. While speaking to media, the RJD leader said, "I came to uncle's (Manjhi) house to take his blessings."When pressed on whether the HAM lead will join the Mahagathbandhan, Yadav said, "If Jitan Ram Manjhi is in dilemma then our door is open, he can come here."Meanwhile, Manjhi iterated that there is no question of him leaving the NDA."My party is a part of the NDA led by Nitish Kumar in Bihar. I talked to Tej Pratap about social issues, not political. I am pleased that he came to my house. It is not surprising, as Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav too had visited my house earlier," Manjhi said.It should be noted that Tej Pratap Yadav met with Jitan Ram Manjhi on the 74th birthday of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.Tej Pratap's closed-door meeting with Yadav with Manjhi has sparked political speculation as the latter is a crucial part of the NDA-led government in the state. The meeting further assumed significance as Manjhi has been critical of the BJP of late.On Friday, Manjhi tweeted that the BJP came to power by promising ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas', but now the saffron party has only one agenda, which is ‘appeasement'.On Thursday, Manjhi and his party had slammed BJP leaders for terming madrasas as hubs of terrorist activities in Bihar, two days after an explosion at a madrasa in Banka district left one imam (religious teacher) dead.
