Mangaluru: In commemoration of “World Hearing Day” Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing in association with MESCOM, conducted a free hearing screening camp for the MESCOM employees On Thursday.In honor of the event, a brief ceremony was held in MESCOM, Kavoor premises. The event highlighted the importance of hearing and the prevention of hearing loss. Kishore Kumar Puttur, Director MESCOM in his speech, highlighted the role of audiologists in the assessment and management of hearing loss and appreciated the Father Muller Speech and Hearing College and Father Muller Medical College Hospital Team for the initiative in conducting a free hearing camp and requested to organize many hearing screening camps for all the MESCOM employees in different parts of Dakshina Kannada district. The guest of honor Mr. Manjappa, Superintending Engineer, MESCOM emphasized the need for a hearing test as a part of routine health check-ups and also the importance of normal hearing for the field workers in MESCOM.The other dignitaries present on the dais were Shri S.A. Pushpa, Chief Engineer, MESCOM, Mr. Jagadeesh, Controller of Accounts, Mr. Sathish Naik, Office Superintendant, Mr. Satish, Circle DCA, Dr. Mahesh BVM, Vice Principal, FMCOSH; Dr. Aju Abraham, Assistant Professor FMCOSH. Welcoming the guest and Keynote address was given by Ms. Cynthia Santhmayor, Assistant Professor, FMCOSH. Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Muthuraj, Associate Professor, FMCOSH, Ms. Jovita Priya Tauro, Audiologist, FMCOSH anchored the program.
