Jhajjar: We have heard about incidents where robbers killed their victims during the robbery. However, in a completely different incident, the owner of a Patanjali store in Haryana's Jhajjar shot a masked robber who came to loot the shop. The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera installed in the shop. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the video, the masked man could be seen pointing the gun at the shopkeeper.
However, the next moment the store owner took out his licensed revolver and started firing at the robber.
The police have said it will conduct a thorough probe into the entire incident. The incident took place on Wednesday evening at Bikaner Chowk where the Patanjali store is located.Mirror Now sources said the alleged robber was shot in the hand and waist. The accused was accompanied by an accomplice. The injured robber has been admitted to Rohtak PGI for treatment.Police have filed a case against the two accused. Police say they are probing whether the accused came to the store for robbery or with a motive to kill the store owner.The store owner identified as Dharmendra alias Lala, a resident of Bori Gate, said he was sitting at his store when the man pointed the gun at him and attempted to shoot. However, his gun did not fire and Dharmendra took out his licensed revolver and shot at the robber, said a report in Hindi daily Dainik Jagran."We reached the spot after getting information of the firing. A youth identified as Mohit, a resident of Dadri Toe, was admitted to district hospital after he was shot in the incident. He was later referred to PGI Rohtak," said Narsingh, SHO, City police station.
