A disparity of opinion appears to be emerging between the two with the Center supporting the Delhi government in its fight against the novel coronavirus.
Delhi Government Sources today told India that the Minister of Home Affairs (MHA), for anybody testing Covid-19 positive, wants mandatory institutional quarantine. If this SOP is implemented, any test person positive for Covid-19 is placed in institutional quarantine for five days whether symptomatic or asymptomatic.
Only if symptoms subside will the patient be allowed to go home.
The Delhi government, on the other side, does not agree with this proposal. To date, all patients have been placed in domestic quarantine in the national capital, with or without mild symptoms. There are 8,500 patients currently in Covid- 19 who observe quarantine at home, and if they pass the order there will be added sources for transfer to a state-run quarantine facility.
On 19 June, 49,979 reported infection cases were recorded in Delhi. Of these, 26,669 active cases were recovered while 21,341 patients died and 1.969 in the national capital were Covid-19 succeeded.
