Vijayawada: A 25-year-old woman was hacked to death with a knife by her husband at their residence in Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. The crime occurred a day before the couple’s first wedding anniversary.As per reports, Lakshmi and Durga Rao fell in love and tied the knot on June 10 last year. The couple lived at Korathanda village in the Krishna district’s Visannapeta Mandal. For the last few months, Rao had been doubting Lakshmi’s fidelity. On Wednesday night, an argument flared up between the couple. During the course of the argument, Rao, in a fit of rage, stabbed Lakshmi with a kitchen knife and fled the house. Neighbours, on hearing Lakshmi’s cries, came rushing to the spot and found her lifeless body. Thereafter, the police were informed.The police, after receiving information, arrived at the scene and sent the victim’s body for post-mortem examination. Rao has been booked for murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, and efforts are being made to arrest him, according to a report by The Times of India.In another incident, a 31-year-old woman allegedly murdered her 35-year-old husband, reportedly over suspicion of him having illicit affairs with other women. The incident took place in Nihal Vihar area in outer Delhi earlier this month.The woman, after being arrested, told the police that her husband had illicit affairs with several women. This led to arguments between them. He would frequently physically assault her. Unable to bear his atrocities, she developed a relationship with a man named Raj. Thereafter, she, along with her paramour, hatched a plot to kill her husband.The woman said that on June 2 night, after her husband came back home, she, as per her plan, gave him sleeping pills with his food. She and Raj then tied him up and murdered him.
