17 year old girl killed by Grandfather and uncles for wearing jeans
An incident happened in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh where a 17 year old girl named Neha was allegedly killed by her own grandfather and 2 uncles for wearing jeans.The murder took place on 19th July when the girl who had returned from Punjab, her Father’s workplace insisted on wearing jeans which was disliked by her Grandfather and Uncles. The confrontation led to a scuffle and reportedly, the girl was killed.The accused took the girl’s dead body to Patanwa bridge on Kasya-Patna Highway in an auto rickshaw and threw it away trying to close the chapter. However, the body was found hanging to the pull by a passerby the next morning. The Police was informed and investigation started.Circle officer Yash Tripathi told ANI that the victim succumbed to severe injuries on the head. A post-marten examination also confirmed the injuries and a fracture in the victim’s head.The victim’s mother lodged a complaint with police and named 10 people, including the teenager’s grandparents. Police registered a complaint under Sections 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), 302 (punishment for murder) and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code.The Police has booked the girl’s Grandfather and the auto driver, identified as Hasnain and efforts are being made to arrest her two uncles.
