Tata Consultancy Services gains 2.25 billion Nielsen deal, Accenture earns Vatican agreement
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS) has set a milestone by securing a $2.25 billion deal to outsource tv measuring firm Nielsen. The deal is the biggest one an Indian information technology corporation has ever bagged.
The TCS agreement marks the continuation of the partnership the organization has with Nielsen. Back in 2015, the tv valuation corporation granted TCS a deal of 1.2 billion, 10 years, which was later increased to 2.5 billion and expanded until 2020.
The deal to outsource Nielsen has now been extended until 2025. The $2.25 billion transaction guarantees TSC of $320 million per annum in Nielsen's company from 2017 to 2020, $186 million per annum from 2021 to 2024 and $139.5 million by 2025.
The extension of the contract is considered to raise the image of Rajesh Gopinathan who became Chief Executive Officer of TCS in February 2017 after the announcement of N.Chandrasekaran as Chairman of Tata Sons Ltd-the company holding business.
Nielsen's statement reads as follows: 'The duration of the Deal has been renewed by an further five years to terminate on 31 December 2025, with Nielsen being given three one-year extension options. TCS would provide Nielsen with qualified information management services (including program creation and maintenance), business process outsourcing, client service knowledge process outsourcing, management sciences, analytics, and financial planning.
