Mumbai Auto Driver Receives ₹ 24 Lakh After His Moving Story Goes Viral
n an inspiring turn of events, the Mumbai auto driver who offered his home to finance his granddaughter's schooling has gotten ₹ 24 lakh in gifts through a crowdfunding activity. Mr Desraj became famous online after his awful story was shared via web-based media by 'People of Bombay'. In his meeting, Mr Desraj uncovered that after the demise of the two his children, the obligation of dealing with the family fell on his maturing shoulders.
"It was the obligation of my little girls in-law and their four kids that made a big difference for me," the lamenting dad uncovered. Mr Desraj started to work longer hours driving his autorickshaw to help his family. Most of his income went into paying the school charge for his grandkids - which he says was awesome when his granddaughter got 80% in her Class 12 Board Exams. Yet, when his granddaughter said that she needed to go to Delhi for a B.Ed course, Mr Desraj realized he wouldn't have the option to manage the cost of it. In this way, he offered his home to subsidize her schooling. "I needed to satisfy her fantasies... at any expense. Thus, I sold our home and paid her expense," he said.
The account of Mr Desraj's benevolent deed contacted a great many hearts after it was shared on the web. Offers of help poured in from all quarters. His story was additionally posted on Twitter by the Congress' Archana Dalmia with an appeal to Mumbai inhabitants to help the auto driver - the post was retweeted by Milind Deora too.
A Facebook client named Gunjan Ratti began a pledge drive for Mr Desraj, which surpassed its objective of ₹ 20 lakh.
