Hostile to CAA dissents back on roads of Assam in the midst of pandemic
After a hole of very nearly five months, challenges the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) are indeed back in the city of Assam. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, different associations have arranged fights against the new citizenship act in various pieces of the state.
Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) on Monday challenged the CAA and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) 2020 draft over the state.In Biswanath locale, the young understudies' association had composed a human chain program and requested to scrap both the CAA and EIA 2020 draft.
The dissenters had additionally communicated their indignation against both the state and focal governments.
Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) pioneer Kamaljit Dutta said that their tumults won't stop until both the CAA and EIA 2020 draft are not rejected.
"The EIA, 2020 draft will severely affect Assam and we can't acknowledge it. We will proceed with our disturbances against CAA and EIA 2020 draft," Kamaljit Dutta said. Aside from Biswanath, the associations additionally arranged fights against the CAA and EIA 2020 draft in Nagaon, Morigaon, Sonitpur, Jorahat regions.
The Citizenship (Amendment) Act expresses that non-Muslims originating from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan till December 31, 2014 will be given Indian citizenship.
