Alcohol shops in Delhi to now open from 10am to 10pm : Arvind Kejriwal
The Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi has broadened timings for opening of alcohol shops in the national capital by one hour with quick impact.
The move expects to help increment the administration's income. The Deputy Commissioner, Excise Department in the request stated, "All alcohol shops in Delhi are permitted to open from 10 am to 10 pm rather than 10 am to 9 pm," new office ANI detailed. Before the coronavirus-constrained lockdown, alcohol shops in the city used to stay open till 10 pm. Be that as it may, the planning for their activity had been shortened by an hour when they were permitted to open again in May.
"In compatibility to rules gave by director, state leader board of trustees, Delhi Disaster Management Authority, Government of NCT of Delhi vide request no..dated 31.07.2020, all L-6, L-7, L-8, L-9 and L-10 alcohol distributes are permitted to open from 10 am to 10 pm rather than 10 am to 9 pm with quick impact till further requests," the request expressed.
The Excise Department said there are 863 alcohol shops in Delhi, of which around 475 are by four government enterprises and around 389 alcohol shops are claimed by private people.
The 475 government alcohol shops are controlled by Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation, Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation and Delhi Consumer's Cooperative Wholesale Store.
